Hey! I've been on the wiki for a little over a month now, and I feel that I am ready to apply for a Moderator position, similar to TimewornKaiju. I could mainly monitor discussions, with some visits to the articles from time to time. I would actually perfer that, since I like the discussions better than editing articles.
If you have discord, and want to talk further, you can friend me at Fried_Emerald#6207.
As Discussions is getting more active, we’ll be hanging about more frequently and learning about the developing environment. We won’t be recruiting new moderators just yet, but we are certainly on the lookout. Read the staff article for tips on how to make the best impressions, and we’ll see how things go. :)
I'm Tephra, the new Fandom Wiki Manager for the Geometry Dash Wiki. I am here to help the community and be your liaison to Fandom. If you need anything, feel free to contact me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Hey, nice to meet you. I'm Hackey5. I'm usually the one you can come to regarding upper level stuff around here. My fellow staff should also be happy to receive your correspondence.
Our wiki here is doing pretty good. It's been around a while and is in an well established and mature state. The growth stage of our wiki is far past, and so is peak activity levels both in editing and socialising. While the game Geometry Dash itself sits high on AppStore charts in its category, the game itself is due a major update that hasn't arrived in over a year so there hasn't been much draw for new editors, nor are articles particularly beckoning since most simple ones have reached comprehensive states which don't require much changing. Of course, there's still some work to do and we're slowly inching our way through to relative completion. On the most part, things should continue to run smoothly, and we're well equipped to deal with any vandalism sprees that occasionally come our way.
I do have one question. Regarding the forum to Discussions transition, is Fandom still offering to conduct the actual transition process seeing forum threads moved being moved over to Discussions?
Hello! I just uploaded a screenshot of the Nockout second secret coin key, which I couldn't find on the wiki. It can be found here . Screenshot is owned by me, you do not have to worry about copyright. I would love it if it could be included in the Nockout gallery, and feel free to edit the page to the correct formatting :)
It’s okay to include missing content such as this on articles. Please don’t create additional articles advertising this, though.
Keep in mind that this image series has a very specific criteria and at some point soon all these images will be replaced with 1920x1080p versions which use the default icon configuration among other things.
There are different namespaces, all of which are prefixed with the exception of regular articles. Uploading a file will create a file page with the prefix ‘File:’ followed by whatever it is called. You don’t have to worry about creating it as it happens automatically.
You can do it on your own message wall using the dropdown up the top. Keep in mind that if you don’t edit for 60 days, you enter inactivity and at some point while doing the rounds I delete message wall greetings of those who have gone inactive.
Hi, hoping to become a content moderator some day (I can reach content moderator pretty quick, as shown on Stick War Wiki). I will MAKE SURE to edit actively. I will MAKE SURE the edits are good; not unnecessary.
By the way, I'm new.
- AzCoy7 :)
(I'm Australian, too. And a question: Is there like a page where I can get those userboxes on your profile page?)
You’ll wanna check the Staff article for information on how promotions are conducted around here. You’ll also want to check Caregory:Userboxes for a display of all those, although they’re currently in the process of being updated.
Also, note that we do not permit uploads of unrelated images here. They must be used on proper articles to be allowed to be uploaded to the wiki.
Hey, I was wondering if you could hold off the deletion of Organized List of 2.2 Features for a couple of days, so I can have the chance to maybe edit this into my user page/make a discussion post. I think it would be useful to have something like this around, but I do agree we don't need an entire page seperately for it.
I know i'm new to this wiki, but I have some cool code I could add. How do you become moderator? For some wiki's there is a wiki possible, but how do you get moderator here? I know a lot about Geoerty Dash and my username there is Neptune7Ninja. I do have some levels. It would be great if I could be moderator, but its all up to how you become one.
I'm going to be straightforward here when I say you might enjoy working on the fan wiki more than ours here. Most elements of this wiki are very specifically configured and as such doesn't leave much room for further alterations outside of some lesser developed articles. Most edits to Quality articles will probably be reverted, while other articles have been locked entirely and require you to formally submit edits. We are looking out for new moderators, however, even then you won't have much to do other than to combat vandalism and moderate social spaces on the most part. Once again, I suggest checking out the fan wiki who are very much eager for many new contributors there.
You’ll need to stick around a while to basically make an impression on myself and Sonar (who’s out for a bit). We won’t be handing out rights immediately because we have had sockpuppet trolls recently who would certainly enjoy a slice of free mod pie to allow them to cause a bit of chaos. And very well you may lose interest soon enough too. :P But until then, you might like to hang about on the freshly updated Discussions which has had an increase in action recently. Engage a bit with the community there, and you have as good a chance as any at picking up mod rights!
