Update 2.21 is an upcoming minor update to Geometry Dash that will be released in 2025 or 2026. The update includes many delayed features initially intended for Update 2.2.

Introductions

Features

Explorers, a new Demon rated main level, using the song of the same name by Hinkik.^{[Discord 1]}
New features in the creator menu, which are visible but inaccessible in Update 2.2:
- The Map, which will contain user-created Platformer levels, "Demon Towers", unlockable Icon Kit rewards, secrets, and more.
- Versus mode.
Several new icons, many of which are already present in the game as of Update 2.2, yet have a message stating they will be unlockable in Update 2.21.
More main Platformer levels, most likely in the second floor of the Tower.^{[Discord 2]}
Custom keybinds.

Improvements

Upgraded U.I. for editor features added in Update 2.2, such as auto-build.^{[Discord 3]}
Update 2.21 will add all of the missing 2.2 icons

19th October: Robert Topala elaborates on Update 2.21, saying it will be "mostly just delayed stuff" alongside upgrades to features added in Update 2.2 such as auto-build.^{[Discord 3]}

- Robert Topala also mentions that some levels in the Platformer mode will not be available until Update 2.21.^{[Discord 2]}

2024

February

2nd February: In an AMA on the Geometry Dash subreddit, Robert Topala explains that The Map will have several user-created levels in different themed areas. It will also feature shops, reward chests, and secrets.^{[Reddit 1]}

21st February: RobTop says Explorers will take a lot of time, and it is now confirmed if it will be in 2.21.

Trivia

Update 2.21 may be the first minor update to introduce a main level.
Update 2.21 will likely be the largest minor update ever added to the game.
Event levels and many icons were originally planned for Update 2.21, but were added in Update 2.207.
Versus Mode is planned to be added in Update 2.21.

Feature dialogue

Clicking on the menu icons for the upcoming features visible in Update 2.2 displays unique dialogue (except for The Map, which shows a unique preview image instead).

When clicking on the Versus button repeatedly, both the Keymaster and Scratch respond:

The Keymaster: Versus mode has been delayed, but it's in the works!
The Keymaster: Yea... It's still delayed.
Scratch: I blame RobTop.
The Keymaster: Who else could we blame? We're not even real.
Scratch: Speak for yourself I'm real!
The Keymaster: Yea, a real pain in the...
Scratch: You're just mad because you don't have a shop.
The Keymaster: You have a shop?
Scratch: I HAVE SAID TOO MUCH! QUICKLY TO THE CHOPPER!

Notably, Scratch's final line in this sequence uses a unique image featuring a helicopter for the dialogue icon.
